Look: Gorgeous Green

I recently joined Phoebe Ann's Make-PHOEBE-Over Birthday Giveaway (read my post HERE). One of the ways to win is to a create a FOTD that the joiners think will look good on her. I was super excited to make a look for her because it feels like as if I am doing her makeup in real life. I know I won't get to do that! :( Anyways, this is my first shot to enter the FOTD part of her giveaway. I created a step-by-step tutorial to hit two birds in one stone. I still don't have a green version of smoky eyes, right? :)

I made this look because I think green complements her skin tone. This look is perfect for everyday with an extra kick. :)

1.  Start with foundation, concealer, and setting powder.
2. Redefine eyebrows. -- If you're wearing eyeglasses, you may want to emphasize the arches.

3. Prime the eyelids and blend gingerly to avoid creasing. -- This will make the eye makeup last longer.

4. Apply a cream eyeshadow all over the lids. -- Since we are working with greens, I chose a green cream eyeshadow. Don't worry if the application is a bit messy at this point, we will be blending it afterwards.

5. Pat on a yellow or gold eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid.

6. Apply a mint green eyeshadow on the middle part. -- Make sure to blend it with the yellow/gold eyeshadow.

7. Intensify the crease area with a dark green eyeshadow. Go up to the inner half of the lids.

8. Blend carefully! -- You may add color if needed. -- Be careful as this color may tend to look muddy if overblended.

9. Apply more of the yellow/gold eyeshadow on the inner half if needed to lighten up the eyes.

10. Lightly brush a burgundy eyeshadow on the crease area. Blend! -- This serves as the transition color.

11. Highlight the browbones with a matte white eyeshadow. -- The matte highlight will balance out the shimmers that we used on the lid area.

12. Line the outer 2/3 of the lower lashline with the same dark green eyeshadow.

13. Highlight the inner corners with the same yellow/gold eyeshadow.

14. With a black eyeliner, line the eyes and waterline. -- I lined my upper waterline too.

15. Curl lashes and apply mascara. -- You may want to add false eyelashes. I chose not to because this look was meant to be an everyday day look.

16. Sculpt the face with a slightly darker powder and apply a natural color blush on the apples.

17. Apply a light pink lipstick and top it with a pink lipgloss.

18. You're done!!!

This look may be a little dramatic for everyday but I believe that extra drama won't hurt. :)
